Duties & Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to estimate NDT costs and durations and ensure all pre-NDT enabling works have been completed prior to NDT deployment.

Functions

·To walk jobs, estimate NDT activities, and advise delivery schedules based on known factors.

·Monitor actual costs against estimated budgets and identify potential cost variances.

·Review accuracy of previous estimates with a view to improving estimating efficiency

·Assist admin team in the development of change orders and cost adjustments.

·To walk jobs again just prior to planned NDT activities to ensure they are ready for NDT.

·Highlight any issues that would prevent NDT being carried out as planned to supervisors, scheduling planner & asset managers.

·Liaise with scheduling planner, control of works, assets managers & IMDS supervisors to establish alternative NDT activities that can be carried out in event of planned work being delayed.

·The list of job duties is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake other tasks that might reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

§NDT qualifications (Preferably current but lapsed qualifications will also be considered)

oUltrasonic Testing (UT)

oMagnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)

oDye Penetrant Inspection (DPI/LPI)

§Must be proficient with Microsoft office software packages (e.g. Excel, Word)

§Full UK driving license

DESIRED

§NDT qualifications (Preferably current but lapsed qualifications will also be considered)

oRadiography (RAD)

oPhase Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)

§Practical knowledge of pre-NDT enabling work such

oScaffolding

oRope access requirements

oSurface preparation required for NDT.
