As a Metal Deburr Operator, you will be part of a team that completes the deburr op in between the CNC rout / punch op and either inspection or metal forming within our sheet metal facility. You’ll perform a range of material handling, metal deburr / de-lug / orbital sanding operations in line with our Standard Operating Procedures, whilst working to the approved quality standards.

You will be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and have the ability to ensure that the correct equipment is used and fully calibrated.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be committed to working safely and comply with the 5S standards in place.

  • Previous experience of manually removing lugs, metal burrs required.

  • Ability to read / understand drawings / follow written instructions

  • Key processes / equipment familiarity: fly press to de-lug metal, files / other hand tools, orbital sanders (90% of work is thin gauge aluminium).

  • All close tolerance / high quality work.

  • Trade test to be completed as a follow up / 2nd stage interview to demonstrate ability to carry out metal deburring to aerospace quality standards.

    The hours for this role can be compressed over four days working 7:00am-4:30pm Monday – Thursday, alternatively, worked over five days (with Friday being a shorter day).
