Mechanical Inspector 

Salary: Up to £16ph
Location: Near Stadhampton, Oxfordshire (20-minute drive from Oxford – public transport unavailable)
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:45, Friday 08:00–12:00
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We’re hiring for a Mechanical Inspector to join a high-performing aerospace engineering team near Stadhampton. You’ll be working on safety-critical components where accuracy, compliance and quality are essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in dimensional inspection and technical drawing interpretation to join a globally respected manufacturer.

Mechanical Inspector Responsibilities:

Carry out precision inspections on mechanical and safety-critical aerospace components

Use handheld tools such as verniers, callipers, and micrometers to check dimensions

Read and interpret engineering drawings to assess component compliance

Collaborate with other inspectors and the QA team to uphold product standards

Accurately document inspection results and report non-conformances where required

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience in mechanical inspection within manufacturing

Confident using manual inspection tools (verniers, micrometres, callipers)

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerancing (GD&T desirable)

Background in aerospace, defence, automotive or similarly regulated industry
