I am currently looking for a Mechanical / Electrical Fitter to join a globally recognised transportation engineering business, in Crewe, on a rolling contract basis . The role is based on a Monday to Friday day shift.

The Opportunity:

The opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the transportation industry within the UK, that is expanding their heavy maintenance function, with a main focus on the servicing, maintenance and repair of passenger rail vehicles, to accommodate a large increase of workload due to recent contract wins and legacy work.

Key responsibilities:

Carry out work to the companies internal standards as requested by line managers.
Mechanical and electrical fitment activities onto rolling stock vehicles.
Ensuring all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed to company standards.
Adhering to health & safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards.
Candidate Essentials:

Must have experience working within a transportation engineering environment (rail, automotive, HGV, PSV, aerospace).
Experience within either mechanical or electrical installation / fitment.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings/schematics.
Competent in the use of hand-held tooling, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
Qualifications:

Minimum of a level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
Must be able to pass a rail standard Medical, Drug, and Alcohol assessment.
Desirable:

Rail experience
Full UK Drivers License
