Mechanical Design Engineer - Aerospace

What will you be doing? 

ALTEN UK is currently seeking aMechanical Design Engineerto join our team in support of a major aerospace programme focused onmodification and maintenance activities for commercial aircraft structures. This role is critical to ensuring the structural integrity and compliance of aircraft as they undergo production and in-service updates.

Project Scope:

You’ll be working on a long-term project with one of ALTEN’s key aerospace clients, supporting theaircraft concessions team. This team is responsible for assessing and resolving structural non-conformities that arise during manufacturing and assembly of the aircraft fuselage and structural components. You will play a key role in updating and modifying detailed 2D drawings and 3D models usingCATIA V5, with a particular focus onsheet metal parts and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessing and implementingconcessions related to structural deviations
• Producing and modifying engineering drawings to reflect necessary changes
• Working within a team of engineers to support thedesign office and manufacturing operations
• Creating solutions that comply withaerospace design and certification standards
• UsingCATIA V5for 3D model updates and 2D drawing amendments

Qualifications

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience with concession management or concessions design support in aerospace
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design principles and aircraft structures
• Proficient inCATIA V5
• Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and modification processes
• UK Eyes Only– due to the nature of the project, you must be a British citizen or eligible for UK Security Clearance
• Degreein Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required
