We are seeking a Quality Engineer looking for that next step in their careers to help drive our company's growth and success within our Quality team.


You will assist with the development and implementation of quality activities for both engineering and manufacturing disciplines with the emphasis on; error prevention, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, legislation, regulation, international standards adherence and the reduction of variation and waste in all elements of the product lifecycle.

About the role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will assist with the development and implementation of quality activities for both engineering and manufacturing disciplines with the emphasis on; error prevention, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, legislation, regulation, international standards adherence and the reduction of variation and waste in all elements of the product lifecycle. This will range from initial development phases through prototyping to production and the life cycle of the product. Understanding of new product introduction processes is required, as is Conformity of Production requirements.


You will assist in FMEA activities, Concerns resolution/ Problem solving activities, provide KPI information and improvement actions. In new programme activities, you will support prototype builds as well as the production launch and ramp to full production.


In your role as our Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Assisting with Developing, implementing and maintaining quality processes (through-out the organisation), documentation and metrics including process maps, procedures, processes and various registers and logs to demonstrate compliance to Part 21 Subpart G, Part 21 Subpart J and
  • Compile, maintain and key quality documents, including customer Quality Plans and FAI Reports.
  • Performing internal audits/ surveillance to verify compliance to Part 21 Subpart G, Part 21 Subpart J, AS9100 and specific customer requirements.
  • Supporting the Site Quality Manager to develop, implement and maintain the Business Management systems to meet legislative/ regulatory requirements, the needs of customers, the business and its
  • Supporting business processes and personnel in continuous improvement activities in addition to providing information concerning product and process quality
  • Supporting the New Product Introduction (prototype and production build support) process through quality planning and implementation within the Quality team.
  • Assist the development of internal PFMEAs, process flow charts and AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Review and investigate concessions, production permits, internal and customer rejects and returns
  • Assist with the management of non-conformances/ occurrence reports and lead investigation and resolution using problem solving techniques.
  • Issue airworthiness certificate (Form1s) to goods being dispatched upon completing the obligations associated with the role of a
  • Carrying out supplier quality assurance activities in order to meet internal and specific customer
  • Ensuring all quality data is captured and analysed against targets taking action on adverse variation to standard and reporting
  • Able to use crucial Quality tools in order to continually increase the performance of manufacturing from a quality perspective (FMEA, RCA, SPC, Process capability studies / MSA, Gauge R&R etc).
  • Perform any other activities necessary to ensure the Quality department achieves its deliverables and objectives.


About you

To help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will bring your expertise within a quality capacity, a passion for problem solving and drive for operational excellence along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

  • 5 GSE’s inc. English language and
  • Diploma / Certificate in Engineering or Quality.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of ISO9001:2015
  • FAI knowledge and understanding
  • Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information.
  • Audit Report writing & ability to present data effectively
  • Able to use of the crucial Quality tools in order to continually increase the performance of manufacturing from a quality perspective (FMEA, RCA, SPC, Process capability studies / MSA, Gauge R&R etc.).
  • Experience in project/time management and the ability to prioritize job duties and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.


Desirable:

  • Engineering Degree.
  • Trained and experienced Internal Auditor (AS9100).
  • Experience of AS9102, AS9100, CAA Part 21G & J and Defense/Aerospace Quality Standards and requirements.
  • Strong aerospace background gained within medium to high volume manufacturing.

  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels both internally and externally.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Eligible to work in the UK and ability to work flexible and sometime extended hours.
