Job Overview

As a Senior Quality Engineering Manager here at Honeywell Aerospace Yeovil, you will guide and inspire a dedicated quality control team, providing clear guidance, mentorship, and facilitation. You will help to shape and maintain our organization's dedication to exceptional quality standards. Reporting directly to our site guide, you will work out of our Yeovil location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will have a significant impact on the success of our quality control operations. You will be accountable for guiding a team of quality control professionals, developing and executing a comprehensive quality control strategy, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards. Your strategic guidance will elevate the entire quality control function, implementing cutting-edge processes and procedures. Your impact will extend beyond quality control, influencing cross-functional collaboration and maintaining the highest standards of compliance.

Responsible for the leadership of the Quality function will prioritise tasks and assignments accordingly. Reporting directly to the site leader with matrix reporting to the EMEAI Quality Leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Site responsible manager for regulatory certification ensuring relevant compliance with customer requirements, regulatory agency, government regulations, engineering specifications and company policies/procedures.

• Site manager for all Quality Engineers delivering on;

o Ensuring compliance in products and processes

o Site PPM

o Compliance to regulatory and certification requirements (AS9100D, EASA Part 21 & 145)

• Achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost targets with a Quality structure capable of supporting the achievement of the Annual Operating Plan

• Responsible manager for the Production Return Department and fielded non-conformances partnering with Engineering

• Responsible for the management and reporting of the Non-Compliance system including Scrap, Rework, First Pass Yield, Internal / External Escapes including operation and maintenance of the eCATS System.

• Management of Quality / Technical / Regulatory training for all Site associates in compliance with Honeywell, Customer and Regulatory requirements.

• Review of contractual Quality requirements to ensure compliance to Honeywell, Customer, EASA / Military or other regulatory requirements.

• High degree of functional collaboration based upon site requirements e.g. Customer Business Team with customer interface, Engineering for technical product issues

• Leads root cause and correction action process for all non-conformances

• Lead HOS development in functional area

• Responsible for contract service worker spend ensuring alignment to productivity targets

• As a member of the Leadership team be a role model for all Honeywell behaviours

• Regulatory Form 4 holder

You Must Have

• Technical understanding of Manufacturing and Quality processes

• Demonstratable knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as AS9100D and EASA Part 21 and 145

• Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels of the business

• Understanding and proven track record of Lean management

• Ability to analyse performance data and lead positive decision making

• Proven track record to deliver and exceed performance targets

• A relevant Engineering or related degree would be advantageous with professional Quality certification

• Experience of working closely with regulatory bodies

• Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and SAP

• Ability to lead change and establish operational metrics and key indicators
