Job Summary


Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our Wolverhampton site. The Manufacturing Manager will provide manufacturing leadership excellence, supporting the Wolverhampton business in producing highly complex hydraulic and mechanical actuation systems, reporting to the Operations Manager.

The role is responsible for ensuring all safety, quality, delivery, profitability, and continuous improvement targets and standards are met. This will be achieved through engaging your team and driving to achieve stretch targets. You will build relationships with internal stakeholders and work together as a team to improve operational performance, while engaging the workforce to make a difference.

We are looking to appoint a high-performing professional with at least 5 years of leadership experience, who can demonstrate success in manufacturing excellence, both in production processes and team leadership. The candidate must communicate effectively with various levels of management on operational performance and future challenges.

The successful candidate must be technically competent in engineered equipment and procedures used in assembly and testing. They must also drive real-time problem resolution using their technical competence and leadership skills.

Responsibilities Include

  1. Leading a complex Assembly and test capability.
  2. Promote a 'Health & Safety Comes First' environment ensuring compliance with corporate and legal requirements. Support with H&S initiatives where required and control operations impact on the environment.
  3. Embed a high-performance culture and engage with direct reports through visible leadership and regular communication.
  4. Ensures the coaching and development of production employees to include training procedures for all operations/personnel, including maintenance of the skills and capabilities matrix.
  5. Tactical management of the daily business operations; focusing on productivity, and efficiency producing conforming product to daily KPI’s.
  6. Cost center financial management and cost reductions that are in line with company objectives.
  7. Identify and Implement lean manufacturing, and other appropriate methods, to drive on-time delivery, shortened lead times, and improved quality.
  8. Ensure effective communication, coordination and collaboration within the production and other associated areas takes place.

Key Skills and experience:

  1. Engineering / Manufacturing Degree or 5 years relevant leadership experience.
  2. Manufacturing leadership experience within Aerospace, Automotive, or similar industry.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with teams and customers both internally or externally.
  4. Be able to delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end.
  5. Have led Continuous Improvement/Change Management Activities to improve on-time delivery.
  6. Effectively lead teams and inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality, and excellence.
  7. Knowledge and experience of quality management systems and EASA / AS9100 Accreditation.
  8. Understanding of MRP / ERP System, with SAP experience a plus.
