We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager with experience in industrialising processes for a 12-month contract based in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.

Job description - the role

The ideal Manufacturing Engineering Manager will have experience of developing technical documentation for industrialisation processes and have experience in implementing APQP and PAPP processes.

The Industrialisation Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be aligned to the Chief of Industrialisation & Cost to integrate projects of work that improve the Manufacturing Engineering capability, develop the tools to improve efficiency and identify and update the quality management systems process in the area of APQP and PPAP industrialisation.

As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:

HSE - Champion product safety and promote a process and product safety culture in the supply chain, ensuring learning related to product safety is embedded.
Quality - Ensure that manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture within the business and suppliers are developed and deployed to support Zero Defects and Right First Time manufacture.
Planning - Deploy mechanisms to govern the achievement of Manufacturing Engineering deliverables, report status, and ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales across Manufacturing Operations and Procurement. Coordinate Industrialisation support for customer and programme reviews.
Create strategy - Support the development of the manufacturing engineering strategy to support the future programmes cross Civil and Defence programmes. Drive Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure we have great cross functional teaming and effective and efficient working together.Key Experiences for the Manufacturing Engineering Manager:

Experience at an Engineering Management level, ideally within aerospace manufacturing, but would also consider other tightly regulated industries where quality is at the forefront like automotive.
General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business.
Has led significant projects across a range of Manufacturing Engineering processes.
Has experienced manufacturing change in new product introduction.Next steps
