Join a well-established, forward-thinking engineering group supporting high-profile industries including Aerospace, Defence, and Space. We are currently expanding and have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Manual Turner to join our expert team in Basildon.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on precision components for complex and high-value projects, with a business that has been innovating in engineering for over 45 years.

The Role – Key Responsibilities:



Operate manual lathes to produce and modify components to tight specifications

*

Work independently or as part of a team

*

Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings

*

Cut, grind, drill, and finish parts as required

*

Perform inspections and safety checks on machines

*

Keep accurate logs of production, issues, and machine maintenance

*

Follow safety protocols and production procedures

*

Ensure machines are stocked with necessary tools/materials

*

Provide flexibility and support to meet production demands

What We’re Looking For:

*

Strong experience using manual lathes in a precision engineering environment

*

Knowledge of general workshop practices: marking off, measuring, manual drilling, tapping

*

Ability to work to high quality and safety standards

*

Positive team player with a proactive attitude

*

Good understanding of safety and manufacturing procedures

*

Desirable: Familiarity with CNC machines
