The role: Maintrol Technical Engineer
At this time, we are looking to recruit highly motivated candidates that will be joining our MAINTROL team within the Engineering organisation. Our MAINTROL engineers support the whole BA Mainline fleet as well as the BA Euroflyer fleet. The successful candidates will be offered a position in our Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), based at the BA HQ in Waterside (Heathrow airport).
What you’ll do:
Coordination and oversight of working parties for aircraft recovery ensuring their wellbeing Coordination and oversight of working parties for recovery of AOG aircraft around the world, delivering safe, efficient and expedient return to service whilst managing recovery team’s welfare Responsible for improving aircraft and Engineering performance through proactive use of Aircraft monitoring and prognostic tools Analysis and actions safety reports and repetitive defects Provides on-site specialist technical support as required with due regard for safety, technical, regulatory and commercial requirements. Sources and provides required approved data necessary to ensure safe maintenance / repair / modification of BA aircraft engines, components or products Responsible for following laid down Technical procedures to deliver aircraft, engine and component technical, safety and cost performance targets along with continuous improvement of aircraft technical performance, engineering processes and procedures. Support business development and change initiatives in support of the business plan Supports optimal technical decision making across the team and leads technical discussions across departments, using expertise and considering the business effects Support and coordinate activity at line stations in order to minimise Technical delays and AOG recovery Responsible for improving aircraft performance through proactive use of Aircraft monitoring and prognostic tools, carrying out repetitive defect analysis, aircraft reliability and Safety reviews
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
Project management / prioritisation Team player with people skills Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in a high-pressure environment Report and business plan writing skills • Customer driven with communication skills Problem analysis / technical decision making Self-motivated and able to manage change High degree of business awareness • Experience of working in operational teams Experience of supplier management In depth fleet/product knowledge gained through considerable hands-on experience Specific knowledge of aircraft mechanical and avionics systems, structures and materials
Your experience:
Ability to hold CAA / EASA approvals or BA company approvals HNC / HND or equivalent in an Aerospace Engineering subject Recognised Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience B1 / B2 Licence without Type rating. The ability to hold and exercise EASA Part 145 Technical Engineer / Part21 CCE or CVE approvals as required for the role
