A garden products manufacturer just outside the Stourport-on-Severn area are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team

The ideal candidate will be a hard-working and adaptable Supervisor with a strong technical background within a manufacturing environment, whilst demonstrating strong leadership abilities either as a Senior Engineer, Team Lead or Supervisor. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will report to the Maintenance Manager and provide planned, preventative maintenance expertise along with responses to reactive breakdowns whilst supervising a team of four

The Maintenance Supervisor will be operating on a night shift
 
Role: Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Stourport-on-Severn
Salary: £41,000 - £47,000 + overtime opportunities
Shift: Perm nights (Sun – Thu) (40 hours)
 
The key responsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor role will be:
 
Team Leadership

Provide direct line management to the shift maintenance team, ensuring team welfare and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Manage and approve holiday requests to maintain minimum staffing levels.
Support return-to-work (RTW) processes and disciplinary actions when required.Training & Development

Deliver on-the-job training to maintenance staff, ensuring they have the skills and tools necessary to work safely and effectively.
Identify skill gaps and collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop and implement training plans.Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with shift supervisors, production managers, and other departments to ensure effective task handovers and address issues from previous shifts.
Align maintenance priorities with production goals and ensure objectives are met.
Maintain continuity of communication across shifts to reduce downtime and maintain accurate reporting.Breakdown Response (Unplanned Maintenance)

Respond promptly to urgent mechanical, electrical, or facility-related issues to minimize production disruption.
Ensure open tasks are either resolved or clearly handed over at shift change with full documentation.Preventative Maintenance

Oversee the execution of all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with company procedures.
Ensure that no PPM tasks become overdue as tracked in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Performance Monitoring

Contribute to improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by maximizing equipment availability through effective maintenance planning and execution.Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities.
Ensure all team members log planned and unplanned work in CMMS (MaintX) and related systems as per departmental standards.Inventory Management

Track the use of spare parts and consumables.
Follow departmental procedures for replenishment and ensure accurate stock records.Safety & Compliance

Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
Complete and manage work permits, ensuring they are signed off or appropriately handed over at shift end.
Support the development and continuous improvement of safety documentation (e.g., Risk Assessments, Method Statements).
Report and help address any shortcomings in health and safety practices. 
The key requirements of the Maintenance Supervisor will be:

Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in using CMMS systems (MaintX experience a plus).
