Rate: £33.88ph via an Umbrella Company (Inside IR35) or £25.26ph PAYE

Employment Type: Contract - 6 Months

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to implement the logistics strategy at the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC)

This role will develop and deliver a range of material handling and process improvement solutions as well as coordinate the implementation of strategic projects that drive overall efficiency and cost reduction.

You will play a significant part to move towards greater levels of automation, including but not limited to Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), and Intelligent pick systems.

It is an exciting role, as you will be at the forefront of new logistics technologies, developing new solutions and working with suppliers to identify new opportunities. You will need the confidence to communicate new ideas and encourage others to move away from traditional material flow methodologies.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Deliver logistics solutions ensuring company adopts best-in-class solutions.

  • Contribute to the delivery of the overall Material Flow and Automation Strategy, ensuring the strategy is aligned with both the overall company and functional strategies.

  • Use benchmarking and other research methods to identify potential opportunities for the latest technology and methodologies to drive best-in-class solutions.

  • Undertake any other work as directed by your line manager in connection with your job as may be requested.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED

    Essential:

    Experience working with external suppliers to deliver projects.

    Project management skills.

    Experience in benchmarking best-in-class logistics solutions.

    Good data analytical skills.

    Knowledge of problem-solving tools.

    Experience of leading or assisting facility change & installation programmes.

    Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

    Knowledge of material flow principles and strategies.

    Desirable:

    Previous experience in the automotive industry and within logistics.

    Experience of leading or assisting in automation and equipment changes and installation programmes.

    Contractor management experience.

    Experience/knowledge of AGV implementation & technology.

    Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
