Our medical device start-up client based in Bristol is revolutionising the treatment of heart failure with their groundbreaking technology that has the potential to become the world’s first curative therapy for this devastating disease which currently afflicts 30-50 million people worldwide.


They are seeking a Lead Firmware/Software Engineer to take a pivotal role in shaping the development of their cutting-edge implantable medical devices. This position offers a unique chance to experience the full lifecycle of medical device development, from prototype creation to clinical trials, and eventually to market.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the development of firmware for next-generation implantable medical devices.
  • Documenting requirements, specifications, and design to support regulatory certification (Software Safety Class C).
  • Driving software development in compliance with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 standards.
  • Collaborating with a passionate team to bring their transformative technology from the bench to clinical application


What You’ll Need:

  • Extensive experience with C and C++ development.
  • Proficiency in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to delivery, within a highly regulated environment. (Medical, Aerospace, Automotive ect)
  • Hands-on experience with microcontroller development, ideally PIC32 & PIC16
