Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role:


Lead Engineer - Vehicle Engineering - £33.25/hr (Inside IR35) - Hybrid / Warwickshire

Position Description:
The Vehicle Engineering Team are responsible for driving delivery of vehicles which meet customers' needs. This is achieved through target setting and delivery (Attribute Integration), Geometric optimisation to deliver targets (Geometric Integration), and compatibility of software systems to deliver customer features (Systems/Features Integration). Vehicle Engineering also helps deliver the engineering Test & Development plans to achieve physical signoff, and whilst this role does not cover T&D, there is an element of crossover to ensure Final Engineering Signoff is achieved. This is a high visibility role interacting with Attributes, Product Character & Performance (PCP), CoCs (Centres of Competence), Design, Marketing, and Programme Domains.


Key accountabilities and responsibilities to include:

  1. Deliver Engineering Targets and Sign-Off for the programme. Depending on the phase of the programme this can include:
  2. Leading cross-functional geometric integration reviews to demonstrate evidence of goodness across vehicle systems, ensuring failure modes are resolved and lessons learned applied (Geometric Integration).
  3. Lead functional systems integration and compatibility systems reviews to deliver customer features to quality (Systems Integration).
  4. Drive attribute development activities to ensure robust target achievement and highest level of engineering signoff integrity by VSSO (Attribute Integration).
  5. Lead coordination of engineering activities to overcome incompatibles to meet programme milestones (via Engineering Guild, ESO and Panel Chart processes).
  6. Support delivery of in-flight programmes to Plant Nitra, including support for LRR Reviews.


Skills Required:

  1. Strong, structured problem-solving skills.
  2. Technical knowledge and experience of key automotive vehicle systems and whole automotive vehicle engineering.
  3. Working knowledge of AGILE principles & Toolset.

  1. Strong, structured problem-solving skills.
  2. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  3. Technical knowledge and experience of key vehicle systems and whole vehicle engineering.
  4. Proven ability to work with technical data and cross-functional teams to resolve problems.
  5. Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  6. Technical knowledge of Automotive Platforms.
  7. Working knowledge of AGILE principles & Toolset.
  8. Can rapidly interpret AIMS, RMDV, GRADE, R+R, and Deviation data to drive progression of these processes.


Additional Information:
This role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35. Hybrid working - flexible maternity cover. The services advertised by Premea Limited for this vacancy are those of an Employment Business.
