Job Description Summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Buyer to join our purchasing team in Cheltenham. In this position, you will take ownership of a group of suppliers, managing purchase order placements and addressing any challenges that arise. You will also escalate issues as necessary to mitigate any concerns or risks.

There is potential for this role to expand to include Long Term Agreement (LTA) and Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) placements, aligning with our commodity partnership strategy.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Place and follow-up on POs. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Manage problems and schedule changes. Update ERP.
  2. Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  3. Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues outside of defined parameters.
  4. Own the 40 day requisition metric for given requisition pool - driving forecasting and management/escalation of risk.
  5. Support the continued deployment of PFEP - improving data quality.
  6. Partner with relevant Commodity Lead to grow buy/commodity partnership.
  7. Maintain ownership of certain strategic suppliers.

Required Qualifications

  1. Strong experience in Sourcing & Buying-Procurement.
  2. Relevant experience in Aerospace/FAR15 procurement would be an advantage.

Security Clearance

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
