We help our customers become an Autonomous Digital Enterprise through innovative products like BMC’s IZOT product line, which focuses on mainframe modernization, improving developer experience, security, and operational efficiency.

BMC is seeking a Lead Assembler Developer to join our IZOT team. You will develop products and solutions based on design specifications, working on complex issues and building prototypes to meet product goals. This role offers influence, opportunities, and challenges for those passionate about programming and working globally.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Develop and deliver products using Assembler and C
  • Design, code, and fix defects in complex multi-tier software solutions
  • Create high-quality design options reflecting broad technical knowledge
  • Conduct code and design reviews
  • Make impactful decisions on development paths
  • Evaluate new technologies and processes
  • Work directly with global clients on complex issues
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to the team

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with z/OS Processing Environment
  • At least 7 years in IBM coding and development, including extensive 64-bit and 31-bit Assembler programming
  • Experience in multitasking, reentrant, and sysplex environments
  • Ability to create functional designs from business requirements
  • Experience with IBM Mainframe tools (TSO/ISPF, JCL)
  • Deep knowledge of z/OS internals and structure
  • Proficiency in low-level operating system functions and troubleshooting
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams

Nice To Have:

  • Experience in C / C++ development
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols
  • Skills in data transformation, databases, JSON, YAML, and remote communication with certificates
