We are seeking an Avionics Team Leader to join a developing manufacturing team who produce parts and components for aftermarket customers, external MRO requirements and internal new aircraft assemblies. This role will lead our Avionics Team within our Part 21G approval to build components on demand, whilst assembling components for our A2 approval and installation on new aircraft.  




Key Responsibilities


  • Manage all Avionics work within the Part 21G production approval, with potential to develop this supervision into A2 Installation to new aircraft. 
  • Completing final inspection of finished parts ensuring they are compliant with the approved data and any production permits or concessions are correctly referenced.
  • Liaising with the Avionics Team to ensure tasks are prioritised and completed in accordance with the agreed production program plan.
  • Report to the Production Manager to ensure delivery of components are reported on accurately, meeting delivery schedules to the required standard. 
  • Completing and documenting dimensional inspection for First Article Inspection Reports. Where appropriate, using Britten-Norman electrical testing equipment to fulfil compliance requirements.
  • Ensuring all non-compliant parts are reported and quarantined in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensuring all matters relating to safety and specifically airworthiness are reported promptly in accordance with the Safety Management System.
  • Maintaining the register of calibrated tools, ensuring all tools, material and personnel approvals are in date and monitored adequately in line with CAA regulations. Ensuring any work, they carry out is within the scope of their approvals granted by the Quality department.
  • Provide training and mentoring to team members and other production members, as required by the Company, and ensure that positive leadership and guidance is offered to all team members.
  • Ensure that materials and/or required items are available to complete required works, liaising with buyers, design teams and stores. 
  • Ensure all stage inspections are completed in a timely manner, in line with schedule and that the quality of the work is in accordance with the relevant approve data and company procedures.
  • Reporting of concession or deviation requests to design by the Design Query form.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Minimum of 5 years working in an avionics environment.
  • Experience in aircraft component manufacture.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Have a detailed knowledge in all aspects of Quality Inspection.
  • 2 years experience in leading a team
