Job Title: Information Technology Technician

Location: Coventry, UK

Core Hours: 08:00-16:35 (Mon–Thu) 08:00-15:10 (Fri).

Vacancy Type: Full-time, Permanent and onsite

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (subject to experience)

At NP Aerospace, we’re looking for a skilled IT Technician to be a vital part of our IT Department during this period of rapid growth.

In this role, you’ll provide expert desktop support to end users across all levels of the organisation, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. You’ll take ownership of maintaining our end-user hardware and software inventory, including building and deploying new equipment, installing software, and ensuring all systems are running efficiently and in line with NP Aerospace procedures.

JOB DUTIES

  • Provide proactive and responsive IT support locally and remotely to users across multiple sites.

  • Install, upgrade, and maintain PCs, software, and hardware to ensure optimal performance.

  • Configure and manage network and local printers, ensuring seamless connectivity for users.

  • Perform daily server checks and ensure backups are successfully completed and secure.

  • Log and manage user change requests, including updates to access rights and permissions.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for resolving daily IT issues logged through the IT Helpdesk.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date software inventory records.

  • Liaise with external support providers to resolve complex issues efficiently.

  • Address daily IT requests from end-users with professionalism and urgency.

  • Manage and maintain Active Directory and Exchange Online (O365) environments.

  • Administer Office 365 applications and services to support business needs.

  • Work independently to manage and prioritise workloads effectively.

  • Troubleshoot and analyse a diverse range of IT problems to identify and implement solutions.

  • Conduct system log checks, audits, and oversee WARP/Modcert compliance.

  • Assist in investigations of cybercrime incidents, supporting the organisation’s cybersecurity efforts.

    CRITICAL OUTPUTS

  • Deliver confident and effective 1st and 2nd line IT support to all NP Aerospace computer users, including executive-level staff.

  • Regularly review, update, and enhance IT procedures to align with organisational needs and industry best practices.

  • Accurately update and maintain hardware and software allocation records, ensuring seamless asset management.

  • Maintain precise and up-to-date software and hardware inventory information to support operational efficiency.

  • Proactively analyse and address findings from system logs, ensuring timely resolution of potential issues.

    EXPERIENCE

    Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Suitable experience in an IT support role, demonstrating a strong track record of problem-solving and technical expertise.

  • Proficiency in Windows 10/11 administration and BitLocker encryption.

  • Extensive experience in software installation and configuration.

  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with internal teams and external IT supply chain partners.

  • Strong skills in Office 365 administration, ensuring seamless user experience and operational continuity.

  • Solid understanding of cyber security principles and best practices.

  • Experience with Group Policy Object (GPO) administration.

  • Practical knowledge of ERP systems and processes.
