Job Title: IT Assistant Engineer
Salary: £28,000 - £29,000

Full Time: Monday - Friday

Our client are currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented IT Assistant Engineer to join an Aerospace engineering company based in Poole. This role will provide assistance to the IT and Systems Manager across a wide range of technology and process-related tasks.

As an IT Assistant Engineer you will be involved in day-to-day IT support, cybersecurity monitoring, systems maintenance, and standard operating procedure activities-ensuring smooth operational performance and adherence to internal protocols.

IT Assistant Engineer responsibilities:

Assist with the onboarding process by configuring access to networks, email, and business systems such as Epicor for new staff

Set up and decommission PCs, printers, phones, and other workplace tech as needed

Provide first-line support for IT-related issues and hardware faults

Monitor and analyse daily data reports, identifying discrepancies and contributing to regular performance reporting

Manage printer supplies, ensuring consumables like ink and paper are sufficiently stocked

Conduct security log reviews, reporting anomalies or potential threats to the appropriate team members

Support the administration of Windows Server updates, antivirus software, and cyber awareness training programs

Maintain accurate documentation for network layouts, user access levels, and system profiles

Input customer purchase orders into Epicor and update sales order information as required

Generate contract review forms and assist with product dispatch processes

Help keep pricing data up to date and support system-related tasks as assigned

IT Assistant Engineer background experience:

A degree in Information Technology or a related technical discipline

Hands-on experience in IT support or systems administration

Solid grasp of cybersecurity protocols and best practices

Familiarity with ERP systems (especially Epicor) and Microsoft Windows Server environments

Strong troubleshooting and organisational skills, with attention to detail

Clear communicator with a proactive and collaborative approach
