Internal Technical Sales Engineer – Sensor Sales

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE) + Performance Bonus
Benefits: Pension, life insurance, health schemes (optical/dental), income protection, 25 days annual holiday

We are seeking a proactive and technically minded Internal Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing sales team. This role involves supporting the sales of industrial sensor solutions across a range of industries, including Automation, Process/Packaging, Medical, Aerospace, Defence, Marine, and Oil & Gas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and guidance on sensor applications to customers

  • Assist external sales engineers with quotations and follow-ups

  • Identify new business opportunities through a proactive sales approach

  • Manage and develop existing accounts with regular communication

  • Collaborate closely with the external sales team on all sales activities

  • Conduct market research to target new sectors and decision-makers

  • Maintain CRM records of sales activities and customer interactions

  • Attend exhibitions and sales meetings as required

    What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous internal sales experience

  • Technical background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (qualifications preferred)

  • Experience using a CRM system

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Team player with the ability to liaise at all levels

  • Attention to detail with an accurate and methodical approach

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and creative thinker with a drive to succeed
