InSAR Processing Specialist | UK – Fully Remote



We are looking for an experienced InSAR Processing Specialist to join a team at a leading organization in the Earth observation intelligence field. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of the organization's strategy to deliver science to more end users through innovative methods. This means you will be working collaboratively with a team dedicated to developing and delivering SAR science to new end users seeking access to ground displacement data through innovative means.


What you’ll do:


  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the organization's InSAR technology, covering both D-InSAR and Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) based processing.
  • Determining the most cost-efficient means to process imagery using a variety of data production processes (enterprise, cloud, on-premise).
  • Collaborating with product owners and scientists to understand the application technology direction/changes, standards, and best practices.
  • Developing and/or maintaining Python-based scripts to enable efficient processing of data to support multiple groups across the organization (Pre-Sales, Customer Success, Delivery).
  • Converting raw image pixels into business consumable data.


What they’re looking for:


  • A minimum of 3+ years of production experience, delivering high-quality products to clients.
  • A master’s level or above in a relevant discipline (Geodesy, Earth Science, Remote Sensing, Engineering – for example Civil, Electrical, etc.).
  • Knowledge of agile software development practices and the ability to participate in development planning and prioritization sessions.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of earth observation satellites, including data processing and the use of software and production pipelines to convert raw image pixels into business consumable data.
  • Strong knowledge of InSAR processing techniques, competent scripting/Python skills, quality assurance, and verification know-how.


Nice-to-have technical skills:


  • Cloud deployment experience (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience working in UNIX environments
  • In-depth technical InSAR knowledge, specific InSAR experience in infrastructure, dam, mining, or other asset monitoring
