Due to the secure nature of the project - All applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (DV) level. Due to the secure access of systems, this position will require onsite attendance in Basingstoke.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in seamlessly integrating both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom applications across diverse Windows Desktop and Server environments. Operating within the Managed Applications team, you'll spearhead the assessment and adoption of optimal design frameworks for transitioning applications onto established and deployed platforms.
In your capacity as a Infrastructure Engineer, you'll delve into comprehensive technical analyses of various applications. Your expertise will encompass discerning nuances in installation procedures, configuring functionalities, assessing interoperability, and ensuring robust security measures. Your primary objective will be to meticulously craft technical and release management documentation, essential for facilitating seamless deployment and subsequent support of applications.
- Provide input into Solution Design documentation in accordance with the Workstream plans.
- Report regularly to the Workstream Lead & Scrum Master on progress, issues, risks, blocks and identifying recovery/mitigation actions.
- Ensure compliance of all Solution Design work with the current baseline of Managed Applications workstream business processes defined by the workstream.
- Raise all delivery/performance issues with the Workstream Lead in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken.
- Liaise with Authority representatives in deriving the solution for complex cases.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Advanced application packaging & repackaging
- Scripting in PowerShell or SQL
- Ability to Integrate COTS, GOTS and Client/Server based applications within Windows and/or Linux based environments.
- Including advanced application configuration aspects such as creating Custom Actions, creating, and tailoring Transforms and associated troubleshooting.
- Good working knowledge of VMware
- familiar with using both historic and current Windows and Linux systems.
