We are seeking a Technical Specialist for HV Semiconductor Applications, interested in leading the strategic design, development, and selection of high-voltage semiconductors for battery electric vehicle (BEV) and propulsion systems. This high-performance Technical Specialist will be depended on for leading efforts to define semiconductor requirements and for building strong partnerships with internal team members responsible for SDV/BEV architectures, semiconductor release, commercial negotiations, electronic control unit (ECU) design, as well as semiconductor IDMs and fabrication partners. This individual will also be depended on to technically guide the applications team to execute strategic plans relative to SiC for HV inverters and power electronics semiconductor deployment. This will include responsibility for guiding semiconductor engineers by defining templated requirements and establishing best practices for guiding development and validation.

What you will be doing:

Building partnerships and working closely with functional peers across Electrification and Propulsion systems, SDV Architecture, ECU Engineering, Systems and Software engineering, and purchasing to establish enterprise power distribution and HV BEV semiconductors’ strategic roadmap and sourcing strategy. Establishing strong understanding of SiC MOSFETs, IGBT, Gate Driver, MCU, BMS semiconductors’ design/fabrication, product portfolio, supply chain and technology roadmap. Providing technical support to commercial and supply chain teams to create and execute an agile and robust semiconductor supply chain strategy. Developing written specification templates for semiconductor selection, design, fabrication of semiconductors within scope of responsibility, enabling sourcing teams to facilitate on-time sourcing activities. Leading all discussion with semiconductor partners, IDMs to execute an enterprise-wide semiconductor selection strategy, supply chain strategy, and future roadmap. Driving design teams and partners to resolution for semiconductor integration, performance, and quality issues Travel as required 

What you will need:

BS in Engineering. 7+ years of experience in one or more of electric powertrain module design, BEV architecture definition, and HV semiconductor selection in the automotive industry. Strong understanding of the latest automotive battery and propulsion systems’ semiconductor microarchitectures and protocols. Understanding of various semiconductor manufacturing processes and technologies (Si, SiC, GaN) and their application in automotive power electronics Experience in prototype evaluation, debug, and testing. Exceptional collaboration and teamwork skills; demonstrated ability for working across functional and organizational boundaries. Exceptional demonstrated experience leading projects to completion. Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to learn quickly.

Qualifications - Preferred

Master’s/ degree in Engineering. Strong knowledge of HV Battery Management System (BMS), DCDC Converters, On-board Chargers, Power Converters, Electric Motors, Charging system and software Strong knowledge of System/Hardware/Software architecture for safety-critical automotive system applications. Experience in working within Agile project management framework.
