In this role, you will be part of ourNautIQ Solutions team and you will be working closely with otherengineering disciplines to design Low Voltage Power DistributionSystems and Equipment for Naval applications. NautIQ Solutions UKis located in Bristol and Heybridge and is a part of Rolls-RoycePower Systems that focuses on delivering electrical and automationproducts to our Naval and Commercial Marine customers. What you will be doing: You will beresponsible for the design and optimisation of bespoke electricalpower systems to meet customer's requirements. You will: Ensuretechnical project outcomes and directions are delivered, you willalso be able to provide technical guidance, counsel and directionto a small team when required. Apply sound technical judgement andidentify solutions to problems in the design, development andverification of Power Distribution Systems and Equipment, to meetspecialist highly demanding technical specifications. Understandcompany business objectives and frequently work across boundarieswith stakeholders to achieve those objectives. Present and exchangecomplex technical ideas and information in a concise and logicalway. Assist and support managers in offering coaching and trainingas well as providing input on performance reviews and careerdevelopment. Lead/deliver the testing of electrical productsthrough to delivery. Be able to protect the company's interest inyour technical field when engaging with customers, suppliers, andoperators as necessary, with the occasional requirement to travelto locations to RR, customer, and supplier sites. Author and reviewtechnical documentation, reports, schedules before final approvalfrom the Chief of Electrical Engineering. Have a comprehensive understandingand application of the fundamental nature of electricity and itsapplications, with a knowledge of latest developments in electricaltheory. Possess extensive knowledge of both AC and DC electricalpower distribution systems, their components, and sub-assemblies,with the ability to coach others. Be able to work autonomouslyacross a broad, ambiguous, or complex area, independently leadingprojects to deliver solutions. You may be responsible for providingdirection, guidance, and counsel to junior members of the team ortechnically supervise a small team. Have excellentcommunication/influencing skills, being able to clearly andeffectively articulate ideas, plans and priorities to others. Beable to plan and drive commitments, delivering to the rightquality, on time, and to budget. It would be advantageous if you:Possess comprehensive working knowledge of marine and electricalstandards and regulations, such as Class Society rules, IEC61439and Def Stans. Are professionally registered as a CharteredEngineer or be working towards gaining a professional status.
