Head of Freight Forwarding (European Road Logistics)

As Country Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing all UK operations, building and leading a high-performing team, and ensuring the profitable growth of freight forwarding services across Europe. You'll play a key role in client engagement, commercial strategy, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and grow the UK office, with a strong focus on European road freight operations.

Drive business development with a focus on high-value engineering clients and strategic partnerships.

Ensure end-to-end operational efficiency, from quoting and planning to delivery and client communication.

Maintain and exceed industry standards for secure and compliant transportation of high-value goods.

Build and manage relationships with clients, carriers, and agents across Europe.

Develop and execute the UK commercial strategy in alignment with company goals.

Monitor financial performance and report on KPIs, budgets, and P&L.

About You

Proven leadership experience in freight forwarding or logistics (5+ years), ideally with European road transport.

Strong understanding of handling high-value or sensitive goods (e.g., engineering, aerospace, or industrial equipment).

Commercially savvy with a track record of growing business and leading teams.

Excellent knowledge of UK and European transport regulations.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

A self-starter with the ability to work both strategically and hands-on.
