    THE COMPANY
    Our client is a weaving and knitting business, supplying performance glass fibre, aramid and carbon fibre into a number of industries, including aerospace, defence, reinforcement, high temperature and filtration applications, PTFE and elastomer coating, and automotive throughout the world. They employ around 300 employees and due to facilitate the next period of growth, they need to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Electrician,
    THE VACANCY
    The Group Electrical Engineer / Maintenance Electrician responsibilities will be:
    To meet production needs regarding engineering issues and breakdowns.
    To carry out routine test and inspection on electrical systems and portable electrical equipment.
    To reduce costs where possible and use the preventative maintenance system to reduce unplanned maintenance.
    To assist the maintenance manager with projects and developments.
    To maintain maintenance activities in compliance with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001 and other customer specific standards.
    Applicants will be working as part of our Group Engineering in Oldham, Rochdale and Littleborough.
    Assist Engineering Manager with ongoing/new projects.
    A recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and other relevant qualifications with at least 3 years’ experience within a similar role are essential.
    A working knowledge of A.C and D.C. drives would be preferred as would the ability to work on P.L.C systems (Siemens mainly).
    Experience of ATEX equipment an advantage
    Approximately 30% of this role will be mechanical and a flexible approach to overtime and shutdown work is required.
    Applicants must be willing to attend callouts 1 in every 7 weeks
    ABOUT YOU
    The Group Electrical Engineer / Maintenance Electrician will have:
    To work safely within the company’s Health and Safety Procedures.
    To work within the requirements and BS 7671 (Electrical Regulations).
    Improve process efficiencies through elimination of downtime with the use of the PPM system and C.I.P. process
    Carry out essential legislative testing of electrical equipment and systems.
    To have a flexible approach towards overtime, shutdown working and call-out cover as required.
    To work as part of a team to optimise company performance and achieve targets.
    To identify and keep essential stock items at necessary working levels.
    To work with the maintenance manager in the identification of process improvements.
    Liaise, when necessary, with external contractors.
    To co-operate with the organisation in respect of training needs and job development to meet organisation and production demands
