Contek Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a reputable precision engineering company, located in Tamworth, West Midlands. Due to continued success and growth, we are now looking for a skilled Universal Grinder OR Surface Grinder to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.

If you are a Surface Grinder, there is training on offer to progress into a Universal Grinding position.

ABOUT THE COMPANY: The company specialises in delivering both precision machining and sub-contract machining solutions, defence project work and the design and manufacture of superior quality work-holding solutions. Founded in the UK, in 1939, they has been working with customers to turn complex ideas and concepts into solutions for over 80 years and has built an exemplary international reputation.

PAY: £17-18 per hour (Depending on experience)

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Thursday (07:15am until 16:15pm) and Friday (07:15am until 12:15pm) - Flexible for the right person.

OVERTIME: Overtime is available consistently and is paid at time-and-a-half.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working on Jones & Shipman 1300 & 1400 Universal Grinders.

  • Working on Myford Universal Grinders.

  • Working on Jones & Shipman 1400L Surface Grinders.

  • Grinding of parts and components for the Defence, Aerospace, and Nuclear industries.

  • Meeting work deadlines and following 5S standards.

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience within universal grinding is required.

  • A committed and driven approach to work.

  • Ambition to stay with the company long-term.

  • To have a hardworking approach towards daily requirements.

  • To be able to work unsupervised.

  • To be positive and self-motivated
