Glasgow Prestwick Airport (GPA) has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate IT Engineer to join our specialist, dedicated team.
This is a full-time permanent position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Additionally, this role requires the individual to join an on-call roster upon successful completion of their training and development plan.

Job Scope:
To ensure the efficient operation and development of all hosted IT / electronic systems and associated infrastructure at Glasgow Prestwick Airport in addition to assisting colleagues in other sections of the Facilities department as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to all users across the site. Assisting with the maintenance and troubleshooting of the following key systems/infrastructures to develop a sound understanding and working knowledge of their operation: Internal network infrastructure (switches, routers, hubs, cabling); Flight Information System; Check-in & airline ticketing systems; Access Control System; Photocopiers/Network Printing MS Office365. Provide ad hoc support to the IT team and external contractors to resolve IT related issues with: Airport PABX, Mobile Telephony, CCTV System, PA System, Emergency Comms & Facilities Customer Clearance and IT Security Systems. Support the IT team to deliver longer term projects relating to system installation, development & maintenance, disaster recovery, server/maintenance replacement as well as any others that may be required. Ensure all systems are comprehensively documented and the information properly archived to meet both internal standards and regulatory requirements that may be examined by external authorities; Follow working procedures to ensure the provision of a consistently high-quality level of systems implementation and support. Maintain backup systems for all stored information with consideration to sustainability. Keep up to date with developments in the industry, enabling you to identify opportunities to improve & simplify current ways of working and IT processes where appropriate. Support the wider IT team in the future development, planning and implementation of technical systems and infrastructure across the estate. Provide on-call support (currently 1 week in 5) upon completion of relevant training and development plan. Responsible for ownership of reported issues through to conclusion or appropriate escalation. Provide to support to external contractors if / when required. Assist the IT team in the provision of technical services / support to a major emergency, incident, or special event. Provide and excellent level of service to our internal & external customers and stakeholders ensuring that their needs are met and that we work closely with them to resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications Required:
The candidate should have a relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
Additional professional certifications or training in relevant IT disciplines would be advantageous. For example, Microsoft MCP, MCSA or CCNA etc.
Experience:

*In accordance with regulations, this role requires you to meet DVLA Group 2 medical standards so that you can drive on our airfield (including on runways / taxiways). Therefore, please only apply for this role if you can meet the following standards:
Vision – applicants must have a visual acuity (using corrective lenses if necessary) of at least 6/7.5 in the better eye and 6/60 in the other. Visual fields will be checked by confrontation method and if there is any doubt then an optician report is required.
Colour perception – applicants are required to distinguish the colours red, green, and white using the Ishihara test plates (24) – 15 plates, presented in a random order, which must be identified without error or via an approved advanced colour vision test. The use of colour correcting lenses are not acceptable.
Hearing – applicants must have the ability to hear a forced whisper in either ear at a distance of 2 metres. In case of doubt an audiometric examination will be necessary.
