Your new role
Accounts & Banking:

Expense Management: Check, process, and ensure all staff expenses, approved by the FD, are paid to employees accurately and on time.
Chart of Accounts: Ensure all expenses are accurately posted to the correct area of the chart of accounts.
Sales Commission: Prepare quarterly sales commission figures and submit them to the FD during the first week of each new quarter.
Year-End Process: Close off Year-End by the end of January with support from external accountants, ensuring all financial matters are settled.
Liaise with Accountants: Collaborate with external accountants as needed, providing all supporting documents for the Year-End process.
Bank Management: Manage the daily Bank Summary, ensuring sufficient funds are available and reporting the cash position to the FD.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile current accounts on a weekly basis and on the last day of each month, as well as other accounts monthly.
Pricelist Management: Publish price lists and import them into Sage Professional, as required and with approval from the FD.
Management Accounts & Tax Compliance:

Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts for review by the FD.
Tax Documentation: Ensure that P11Ds information is submitted annually to the external accountants.
Compliance: Ensure that all taxation and legislative requirements are always adhered to.
VAT Returns: Prepare quarterly VAT returns for both UK and EU transactions and ensure timely submission.
VAT Accruals: Ensure VAT accruals for payments to HMRC for quarterly VAT returns are made on time, and ensure returns are paid before the HMRC deadline.
EU Sales Listings: Submit monthly EU sales listings to the Dutch VAT partner.
What you'll need to succeed

AAT qualification or equivalent.
Experience in preparing and reviewing management accounts and tax returns.
Knowledge of UK and EU VAT regulations.
Proven experience in a finance or accounts role, with strong understanding of banking, expense management, VAT, and tax compliance.
Familiarity with Sage Professional and other accounting software.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external accountants.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, particularly during month-end and year-end periods.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
