Field Service Engineer – CNC Machining Centres
📍 Location: Dartford (Home-based)
🕒 Type: Full-time, Permanent
💼 Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Overtime + Company Vehicle + Benefits

Are you a hands-on engineer with solid experience in both mechanical and electrical servicing of CNC machining centres? We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Field Service Engineer to join our growing team of specialists supporting advanced manufacturing equipment across the UK.

🔧 About the Role:

You’ll be responsible for the installation, servicing, fault-finding, and maintenance of CNC machining centres (vertical, horizontal, and 5-axis), working across a variety of customer sites. This is a field-based role, requiring regular UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and commission CNC machines at customer facilities.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.

  • Carry out routine preventative maintenance and breakdown support.

  • Provide technical support and training to customers as needed.

  • Accurately document service activities and report findings

  • Maintain strong communication with the service team and customers.

    🔍 Requirements:

  • Proven experience servicing CNC machining centres (3, 4, or 5-axis)

  • Strong mechanical engineering skills – bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics

  • Solid electrical knowledge – wiring, drives, motors, control systems (e.g. Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenheim)

  • Able to read mechanical and electrical schematics.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and confident working independently

    💡 Desirable:

  • Formal engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)

  • Experience with machine tools across aerospace, automotive, or precision industries

  • Familiarity with PLC fault-finding or software updates
