Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division is looking for a tech-savvy and personable Applications Engineer, Aerospace and Defence to help us drive our business forward by providing support / case management to our Aerospace and Defence customers for our Aerospace and Defence products and services. In this exciting hands-on position, you will utilize your expertise to ensure our customers’ success. Additionally, you will be part of a growing Global Core Customer Support team and will have a strong focus on supporting our non-US global Aerospace and Defence customers. The position collaborates closely with Customers civilian and military, Sales, Specialists, Engineering, Export Compliance, and Account Managers.

You will build relationships and work closely with UK Defence contractors, acting as the point-of-contact.

The Location: This position is a remote role based in the UK or at the Aberdeen office.

Responsibilities

As our Applications Engineer, Defence and Aerospace, you would be responsiblefor:

  • Providing technical support for both pre-sales opportunities and post-sales issues such as:
    • Data analysis for support cases when applicable
    • Troubleshooting, investigation, and issue replication
    • Phone and email support
  • Generate and review technical support documentation including "Frequently Asked Questions" and "Application Notes"
  • Interface with, and provide support for engineering teams
  • Physical investigation/data collection for engineering teams
  • Review marketing materials
  • Perform product testing and verification
  • Provide in-person professional services including customer demonstrations and troubleshooting
  • Contribute to root cause analysis

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Degree in Geomatics, Electrical Engineering or related field, with 2+ years of related industry experience
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to get on with others
  • English fluency with excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally, including trips to Canada to collaborate with the larger Applications Engineering team

Key Success Factors:

  • High attention to detail and highly organised
  • Strong multitasker with keen ability to prioritize, and compartmentalize information
  • Comfortable working individually but know when to ask for help
  • Work well in a collaborative environment
  • Has great time management skills

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience working directly with customers, preferably in the delivery of support or services
  • Experience working within the UK Defence industry or with Defence contractors
  • Experience in GNSSand INS systems installation and/or troubleshooting
