Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Stevenage

Salary: Up to £57,000 – Dependant on experience

We’re working with an award-winning, engineering organisation, who are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer who will contribute to the development of current and future seeker systems.

The Embedded Software Engineer role

This is a hands-on role and will involve architecting, designing, implementing and testing aerospace systems.

This ever-evolving team powers the business across Europe and brings the next generation of defence solutions to life. Together we experiment, innovate and create across the full product lifecycle. In a collaborative and close-knit culture, we support each other to search for better!

You will be responsible for delivering the on-board software for the next generation of these aerospace systems.

Embedded Software Engineer experience required

Focussed on embedded software development for Real Time systems:

• Experience of developing bare-metal embedded software using C/C++.
  
  
• Experience in model-based development, using UML or using tools such as IBM’s Rhapsody.
  
  
• Focus on code quality and the ability to engage in code and design reviews.
  
  
• Development of maintainable and extensible code (to adapt to change in requirements etc.)
  
  
• Able to communicate and collaborate with multiple customers, eg Systems Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, Test & Validation
  
  Desirable, but not essential:
  
  
• Experience of the definition and verification of algorithms in a model-based environment (SCADE).
  
  
• DO178C knowledge.
