Role: Electrical Commissioning Engineers - Hinkley 'C' Nuclear Power Station project

Location: Hinkley 'C' site near Bridgwater, Somerset (3 days/week on site to start, rising to 5 days/week on site in late 2025 / early 2026)

Salary: £40000 - £70000 + excellent benefits, including up to £1500/mo travel allowance

Start: April 2025 onwards

An exciting opportunity exists for skilled Electrical Commissioning Engineers with experience in the commissioning of large industrial equipment to work in support of EDF's Hinkley 'C' nuclear power station construction project.

The positions will be based at the Hinkley 'C' site near Bridgwater, Somerset (TA5 1UD) 3 days/week to start, rising to 5 days/week over the coming months.

Engineers will normally be aligned to either HV, LV, DC or generator systems but will be expected to work across all electrical disciplines at times during the contract period. This includes system voltages at 400kV, 10kV, 400VAC, 690VAC 220VDC and control voltages. The engineer must be able to work with plans and meet tight deadlines.

Prior nuclear or other regulated industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential to being considered

Main Activities

Acting under the direction and control of NNB GenCo, main deliverables and objectives of the Electrical Commissioning Engineer role will include:

Contribute to team meetings
Liaise with the designer.
Liaise with the Project managers for electrical deliverables
Accountable to a nominated Commissioning Manager/Engineer in the NNB HPC Project team
Develop commissioning documentation relating to commissioning testing and system validation activities
Contribute to design reviews to ensure layout of plant items and systems are in a manner that allows ease of commissioning
Contribute to detailed planning of commissioning and take ownership of a programme of commissioning tests
Take part in the execution of site commissioning activities including supervision of contractor commissioning personnel on behalf of HPC to achieve successful and safe commissioning of HPC systems
Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Degree qualified (or equivalent qualification such as HNC + experience) in Electrical Engineering.
BS7671 18th Edition regulations
Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to convey complex information to others.
Ability to plan works and support scheduling including understanding outputs of planning tools such as Microsoft project or Primavera P6
