Are you passionate about ensuring safety, quality, and compliance in cutting-edge aerospace technologies? Collins Aerospace, a leader in aerospace and defense solutions, is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Electrical Certification Engineer to join our dynamic team onsite at our Kilkeel facility. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in the development and certification of advanced electrical components integrated into seating and furniture systems across a wide range of aircraft.

What You Will Do:

  • Certification Leadership:Develop test plans, substantiation reports, and oversee testing to ensure compliance with FAA, OEM, and international standards.
  • Documentation Excellence:Create and review essential documents, including Grounding & Bonding, System Safety Assessments, and Failure Hazard Assessments.
  • Design Oversight:Lead design reviews, ensuring alignment with requirements, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
  • Process Development:Create templates and work instructions to improve quality metrics such as First Pass Yield and First Time Fix.
  • Regulatory Expertise:Stay updated on the latest FAA, STC, and OEM regulations, maintaining compliance and driving innovation.
  • Problem Solving:Analyze and resolve technical deficiencies in electrical components at both LRU and system levels.
  • Global Collaboration:Prepare and present plans, reports, and strategic insights to stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and executive leadership.

What You Will Learn:

  • Regulatory Mastery:Deepen your knowledge of FAA, OEM, and STC regulations while ensuring safety and compliance for advanced aerospace systems.
  • Documentation Excellence:Build expertise in creating critical technical reports and assessments like Grounding & Bonding and Failure Hazard Assessments.
  • Technical Skills:Strengthen your understanding of electrical system design, failure analysis (FMEA, FTA), and validation for a range of aircraft, including Boeing and Airbus models.
  • Leadership Development:Gain experience leading design reviews, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving strategic program plans.
  • Continuous Improvement:Refine processes and solve technical challenges to enhance product quality and certification outcomes.
  • Global Exposure:Work with domestic and international regulators, influence industry standards, and explore global aerospace markets through travel opportunities.
  • Innovation and Technology:Engage with cutting-edge aerospace systems and shape the future of advanced technologies.
  • Professional Growth:Hone your communication skills, present to key stakeholders, and expand your network in the aerospace industry.

Essential Criteria

  • A degree in a related engineering discipline with a minimum of two years’ experience in an Engineering related role.
  • OR
  • Hold an HND/HNC in a relevant discipline with at least three years’ experience in an engineering related role.
  • OR
  • Hold or working towards a Third Level Education in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a comparable professional role.
  • OR
  • A relevant apprenticeship with five years’ experience in Engineering.

Desirable Criteria

  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams to execute complex aviation programs.
  • Strong understanding of electrical system design for aircraft from Boeing, Airbus, Gulfstream, and Embraer.
  • Experience with design and validation of electrical components for aircraft such as B737, A320, and others.
