Belcan is recruiting on a Permanent basis for a Desktop Support Engineer at our South West offices.

Full Time working from our Cheltenham GL51 or Bristol BS34 sites.

Some travel requirements within the UK & Europe on occasion maybe required.

A Desktop Support Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our organisation's IT infrastructure (500 approx), particularly at the user level.

You should possess good problem-solving skills and high-level interpersonal skills.

Experience

Technical support, providing first- and second-line support for hardware, software, and network issues on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
Support end-users in person, via phone, or through remote tools, ensuring minimal disruption to their work.
Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals
Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software
Incident Management: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS), applications, printers, and connectivity.
Travelling to site to provide proactive and reactive IT Support when required
Ability to solve complex hardware and software issues
Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including inventory of devices and software licenses.
Documentation: Maintain records of issues, solutions, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Due to the nature of the work, successful applicants must meet eligibility requirements to obtain UK Security Clearance.
