About this Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Composite Design Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy on an initial 6-month contract (Outside IR35). This role offers the chance to work on high-performance, lightweight structures within a fast-paced and technically demanding environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of advanced composite components, supporting projects across a range of industries.

Job Responsibilities:



Design and development of composite components and assemblies using Siemens NX

*

Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation to support manufacturing and build processes

*

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including stress, manufacturing, and vehicle integration engineers

*

Apply best practices in composite design, including material selection, layup definition, and joining methods

*

Support design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies

*

Ensure all work complies with relevant technical standards and project requirements

Experience Required:

*

Proven experience in composite design engineering within automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or a similar high-performance sector

*

Strong proficiency with Siemens NX CAD software, including surfacing and assemblies

*

Good understanding of composite materials, manufacturing techniques, and design for manufacture principles

*

Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team environment

*

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

*

Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical, aerospace, or automotive engineering
