Job Title:Commissioning Engineer

Salary:£425-£450 p/day Ltd (outside IR35)

Location:Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Region

Type:12-month+ contract | Immediate start


About the Role:

Our client is looking to strengthen their Construction team with multiple Commissioning Engineers. You will be site-based across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager. This role involves managing all commissioning activities, ensuring work is undertaken safely and in line with company procedures, specifications, and industry best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver commissioning schemes in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Monitor and review MEICA-related project risks.
  • Attend commissioning system inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Work with the design team to ensure plant commissioning requirements are incorporated at the design stage.
  • Review design deliverables, including FDS, equipment/instrument lists, P&IDs, control philosophy, and telemetry requirements.
  • Develop Compliance & Commissioning Plans in line with design intent.
  • Oversee and sign off FAT and SAT, and process witness tests.
  • Contribute to the development of initial Commissioning Programmes.
  • Attend progress and commissioning meetings.
  • Compile commissioning documentation and deliverables.
  • Liaise with subcontractors regarding commissioning deliverables and interfaces.
  • Assist in training coordination and development of O&M manuals.
  • Maintain commissioning logs and daily diaries.
  • Support the preparation of takeover reports.


What Our Client is Looking For:

  • Electrical commissioning experience.
  • Extensive site experience in water and/or water recycling operations.
  • Practical knowledge of water and/or water recycling processes.
  • Valid clean UK driving licence.
  • Minimum Level 3 electrical discipline qualification.
  • Experience setting up actuated valves, flowmeters, pressure and level transducers.
  • Knowledge of communication networks, telemetry systems, and SCADA.
  • Strong attention to detail in test record-keeping and closeout reports.
