Can you communicate clearly and effectively tokeep contractors and stakeholders aligned?  If so, we want tohear from you!  The Opportunity At Hinkley Point C(HPC), we are constructing two new nuclear reactors, marking thefirst of a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK. Onceoperational, these reactors will provide low-carbon electricity topower around six million homes.  An exciting opportunity hasarisen in the Pre-Ops and Commissioning Team for a CommercialManager.  You will join an ever-expanding team to help withthe day-to day contract and commercial management duties forPre-Ops and Commissioning contracts.  This will involveliaising with contractors and being responsible for managing andreviewing payments, contact administration (via CEMAR) and generalcommercial management duties including risk mitigation.  As part of your role, you will have further opportunities todevelop and support the delivery of Long-Term Service Agreements(LTSA) for HPC which is a significant workstream for theoperational phase of the project.  This will require theco-ordination and oversight of the complete procurement cycle inline with HPC governance requirements, ensuring timely andcost-effective acquisition of goods and services.  Pay,benefits and culture Alongside a competitive starting salaryfrom £45,000 - £60,000 (negotiable depending on experience),and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include arange of benefits, from the big and formal to the small andpersonal. We’re talking about everything from enhancedparental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance toproduct discounts, critical illness insurance to technologyvouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.  At EDF UK,we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone'sworking needs are different. Because success is personal.  What you’llbe doing You’ll oversee the day-to-day management of SupplyChain Assistants, guiding them to ensure seamless projectoperations. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of contracts,ensuring alignment with HPC governance requirements and businessobjectives.  Throughout each contract phase, you’ll play a keyrole: Procurement Phase: Supporting the procurement processand assisting the Senior Commercial Manager by assessing thecontract’s scope, duration, and expected value against the ContractAuthorised Sum (CAS), and defining commercialrequirements. Execution Phase: Leading the commercialadministration of contracts, aiming to optimize operational andfinancial outcomes while minimizing risk, ensuring the safe andcost-effective delivery of the HPC programme. Closeout Phase:Managing contract closeouts, providing commercial support toproject managers, and ensuring formal completion of all projectcontracts. You’ll also identify and document key commercialinsights and lessons learned for future projects. Throughout,you’ll provide commercial support to the Senior Commercial Managerto facilitate effective contract delivery and help drive thesuccess of HPC’s business objectives.  Who youare You’re an experienced contract management professionalwith a solid foundation in commercial practices and a proven trackrecord of successfully administering contracts. You have a strongunderstanding of best-practice methodologies and bring sounddecision-making skills, especially in high-value financial matters.With expertise in contract performance measurement, risk, andchange management, you’re well-equipped to handle complexcommercial functions. Educated to degree level or withequivalent experience, you’re familiar with the most widely usedcontract forms in the industry, including NEC and FIDIC, and have aparticular focus on UK law and its implications on contract andcommercial roles. Ideally, you also bring knowledge of the nuclearsite license conditions and the UK regulatory framework, and youmay even be a member of a professional body such as RICS, CICES, orIOB.  Closing date for applications: 4th December2024  Success is personal.
