CNC Miller or Turner

Contek are working with a small sub-contract machine shop in Oxford who are looking for either a competent CNC Miller or Turner to join their team.

This company being a sub-contract business offer a range of machined components, mainly low volume/one off components for a variety of industries such as Aerospace, Food, Science and Motorsport.

Training will be offered for candidates who would like to learn or have basic experience using CAD/CAM software but online programming is essential. We are happy to hear from candidates who have used conversational software.

Requirements:

  • Create components from customer drawings on either a CNC Mill or Lathe.

  • Using drawings to ensure the components you machined are within tolerance.

  • Using Hurco controls and CAD/CAM packages.

  • Work low volume/one off components with confidence.

  • Manual machining where required (not essential).

  • Willing/can-do attitude and open to learning/improving your own machining processes.

    Desired:

  • Experience using Hurco.

  • Happy to work in a small engineering team.

  • CAD/CAM Programming experience.

    Hours:

    This role offers flexible hours that are typically as follows:

    Monday – Thursday
    07:30 – 16:00

    Friday
    Flexible depending on hours done within the week.

    Overtime is offered at 1.3x the hourly rate you start on.
