Client Engineer – Mechanical/Electrical Manufacturing

Location: Yorkshire

Offering Circa. £55,000 - £65,000 Basic Salary plus Great Benefits!

Our client is an established and well-respected manufacturing company based in Yorkshire, providing engineering solutions, to clients throughout the UK and Worldwide. Due to continued growth, they are currently recruiting a Client Engineer, to work closely with our client’s customers, to help identify ‘known and unknown’ system problems and tailor solutions to fit their customer need.

The Client Engineer will work closely with a customer to understand how their current products and solutions are being used, and whether they are maximising the product features. Working with a cross-functional team to determine and develop bespoke solutions, the successful candidate will discover solutions to customer problems that are valuable, usable, and feasible. Simultaneously, work with customers to identify new applications of our client’s products with a goal of resolving other customer issues.

Client Engineer – Key Responsibilities

Project and Solution Delivery Management

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, production, and supply chain, to ensure solutions are delivered complete, on-time, and to expectation.

  • Develop and implement processes and best practices for efficient project execution.

  • Be hands-on in creating and supporting the design of bespoke products.

  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, ensuring products and solutions delivered adhere to the requirements set out by the internal and external customers, and align with the solution, product and company vision.

    Understanding the Customer’s Needs

  • Keep customers updated throughout product and solution lifecycles.

  • Work closely with customers to identify new solutions and applications of our client’s products.

    Communication and Reporting

  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and partners.

  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations as needed.

    Client Engineer – Candidate

  • STEM related Degree is preferred.

  • An excellent communicator, confident engaging with clients at all levels, and building rapport. Able to engage with the customer and understand their needs.

  • Comfortable probing and questioning customers to better understand their ‘pain points’ to help identify best fit solution.

  • Understanding and exposure of Automotive, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Medical, Mechanical or Electrical industry is highly beneficial.

  • CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks skills designing mechanical or electrical solutions.

  • Able to understand commercial and engineering drivers and constraints.

  • With strong Microsoft skills, able to create detailed and presentable customer-facing technical documentation.

    The Client Engineer position is offering Circa. £55,000 - £65,000 basic salary plus excellent benefits. This is a full-time, permanent position, requiring 25% travel (mainly) throughout the UK. Flexibility to work hybrid, 2-3 days per week based at our client’s Yorkshire office.
