You are an operations leader with the experience, drive, and vision to scale a purpose-driven company. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of operations, build out internal systems, and drive commercial success—ensuring the company is positioned for long-term impact and growth.


Your Impact

As COO, you will transform strategy into execution, aligning people, processes, and partnerships to achieve ambitious goals. Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you will create a world-class operational structure that enables rapid scaling while maintaining the company’s mission-driven culture.


What You’ll Do


Operations & Delivery

  • Build and optimise the company’s operational backbone acrossHR, legal, contracting, and compliance.
  • Overseeday-to-day business operations, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and team well-being.
  • Develop and implement best-in-classproject delivery processesto ensure high-quality, on-time outcomes for clients.


Commercial Enablement

  • Partner with the CEO and commercial team totranslate strategic goals into actionable planswith measurable KPIs.
  • Drive alignment between business development, technical delivery, and customer success.
  • Contribute to pricing models, proposal structures, and contract negotiation frameworks.


‍ ‍People & Culture

  • Build and support a high-performing team with clear roles, strong communication, and a culture of collaboration.
  • Overseerecruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and people management as the team scales.
  • Foster afeedback-driven, psychologically safe environmentwhere talent thrives.


⚖️Risk & Compliance

  • Leadlegal and corporate governance, including contracts, data protection, insurance, IP management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support funding processes and due diligence requirements as needed.


Who You Are


Must-Have Experience

  • Proven leadership as aCOO, VP Operations, or equivalent, ideally in a data, SaaS, or impact-focused tech company.
  • Strong operational expertise acrossHR, legal, contracting, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated successscaling operationsin a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Experience managinginterdisciplinary teams, particularly in research-led or technical organisations.
  • Exceptional communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Background inenvironmental science, conservation, or biodiversity-related fields.
