Job Purpose

The Strategic Procurement Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of strategic aluminium extrusion suppliers, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of Multi-Functional Team (MFT) projects. This role also oversees the Aluminium ConBid process, a critical function in managing Airbus's global aluminium supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Management & Strategy

Manage strategic aluminium extrusion suppliers globally.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Lead supplier selection processes, including Call for Tenders and contract negotiations.
Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance assessments.Project Management (MFT)

Lead or support MFT projects, ensuring delivery on time, cost, and quality.
Contribute to the deployment of commodity strategies aligned with Airbus procurement policies.
Identify cost improvement opportunities and support company-wide initiatives (e.g., MOVE, A350XWB RC2020+, A330).
Supervise and support Transfer of Work (ToW) activities.
Manage supplier-related risks and define mitigation strategies.Contract & Commercial Management

Negotiate and manage contract terms and conditions.
Ensure consistency between contracts and Airbus systems (e.g., SAP).
Lead contract reviews and support supplier development initiatives.ConBid & Enablement

Oversee the Aluminium ConBid process, including demand monitoring, allocation optimization, and change request analysis.
Ensure subcontractors are enabled to procure under Airbus terms using the Enablement process.
Identify and mitigate potential contractual breaches.

Supplier selection reports and tender documentation.
Project plans, reviews, and meeting minutes.
Validated contracts and commercial agreements.
Senior Management Review (SMR) documentation.
Business cases and reports for savings initiatives.

Operating Budget: Approx. $50M USD (2024 contractual obligations)
Supply Base: >2 global suppliers

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in strategic procurement or supply chain management, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing.
Strong project management and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of contract law and procurement systems (e.g., SAP).
Ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex supplier relationships.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
