GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with one of the UK’s leading and fastest growing manufacturers of passenger seats for commercial airlines. We are supporting their recruitment for an experienced Buyer to join their every growing team on a full-time permanent contract, located in Northampton.
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate previous experience using MRP/ERP systems and procurement processes with the capability to deliver results within tight timeframes, in a fast-moving environment. Experience in material and supply planning in an aerospace manufacturing environment and project purchasing and relationship management would be advantageous.
This is a hybrid role working Monday – Friday and they are offering a competitive salary plus excellent company benefits such as life assurance, healthcare scheme, retail discounts and a 1pm finish on Fridays.
Buyer main duties:

  • The Buyer will take full responsibility for managing the day-to-day orderbook.
  • You will develop and manage working relationships with suppliers.
  • Securing the on-time delivery of material.
  • Ensuring required quality is met or exceeded, and that supplier performance is always class leading.
    Buyer required skills and experience:
  • A solid understanding of MRP/ERP systems and procurement processes is essential
  • Ability to deliver results within tight timeframes in a fast-moving environment.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve problems systematically
  • Ability to manage risk, identify and leverage cost drivers
  • Great communication skills and the ability to develop good cross-functional, collaborative working relationships
  • Analytical thinker who can articulate the case and engage people to achieve the end goal.
  • A confident decision maker with clear, thought-out rationale for judgements made
  • Flexible to adapt to changing situations and environments.
  • Process-driven with evidence of working knowledge of procurement/supply chain processes and procedures.
  • Able to work, think and make decisions autonomously.
  • Intermediate/Advanced MS Office Skills.
