MERITUS are recruiting for a Building & Construction Project Leader to join our client on an initial 12 month contract to support exciting developments with our major aerospace client.

PROJECT LEADER - INSIDE IR35 - £42 PER HOUR - 12 MONTHS - BROUGHTON, FLINTSHIRE - CLIENT SIDE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage Multi-Functional Project Teams (MFTs) in the successful delivery of building services projects. This includes major plant replacement, refurbishment works, and various small to medium-sized developments across a range of sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and lead MFTs to deliver building services projects in accordance with internal standards, governance, and regulatory compliance.

Oversee detailed design phases, ensuring alignment with technical, operational, and maintenance requirements.

Apply industry-standard design and calculation software to produce high-quality deliverables.

Conduct condition surveys, service audits, and contribute to plant replacement/life cycle planning.

Liaise effectively with clients, architects, and external consultants.

Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact.

Manage projects through all lifecycle stages-from feasibility and design through implementation, site monitoring, and handover.

Monitor and validate the delivery of professional service work packages and on-site installation works, ensuring compliance with technical and health & safety requirements.

Skills & Attributes:

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams.

Background in Facilities Management or related field, ideally in a senior project management role.

Experience in capital investment project delivery, including project planning, execution, and closure.

ONC / HNC or equivalent qualification in a Building Services Engineering or related discipline.

Strong experience in refurbishment and plant replacement projects, particularly within existing buildings.

Proficient in developing construction briefs and managing scopes for external professionals (e.g., architects, engineers).

Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems, from design through to operation and maintenance.

Familiarity with working in a consultancy or client-side environment.

Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE, IET) preferred.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Commitment to health, safety, security, and ethical compliance in line with company policy.

Additional Responsibilities:

Develop, update, and monitor project delivery plans.

Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.

Prepare and oversee CAPEX business cases, including financial tracking and stakeholder approval.

Define detailed briefs for design consultants, ensuring alignment with technical and project goals.

Produce high-quality documentation and technical analyses; proficiency with MS Project, SharePoint, G Suite, or similar platforms is highly desirable.

Manage project budgets and external supplier costs from request to completion.

Ensure high standards of on-site compliance, technical delivery, and health & safety during construction and installation works
