A new opportunity has arisen with my client for an Base Maintenance Shift Supervisor. Reporting to the Shift Manager the Base Shift Supervisor will lead the shift, carry certification on the zones/Area of the aircraft assigned to the Shift.

Role: Base Maintenance Shift Supervisor

Salary: Upon Application

Location: Prestwick

Hours: On a 5 on 4 off shift pattern -07:00 - 19:00 - 12 hour shifts

Responsibilities:

Efficiently control, supervise, and allocate work tasks during the shift to ensure optimal productivity and adherence to timelines.
Monitor and evaluate staff performance regularly to provide constructive feedback and support professional development.
Report significant defects encountered during maintenance promptly and compile Occurrence Reports in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities and issues for future reference and audits.
Allocate tasks to staff to maintain the Base in a clean and acceptable state throughout the duty period.
Ensure proper training and resources are provided to staff for effective task completion.
Exercise the privileges of authorisation correctly and responsibly, adhering to all regulatory and company standards.
Ensure personal license and authorisation remain valid and up-to-date.
Support C-Cert with final CRS and exercise privileges of C-Certification when required
Stay current with Base procedures and all operator procedures at the base, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
Participate in regular training sessions to keep abreast of any changes or updates in procedures.
Ensure accurate time tracking for 'man-hours' worked for self and team during the shift period
Maintain Health & Safety standards in accordance with the company's Safety Policy.
Accomplish other tasks as reasonably requested by management, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
Propose improvements and innovations to enhance operational efficiency and staff satisfaction.
Enhance communication channels within the team to ensure clear and effective information flow.
Encourage leadership training programs to develop supervisory skills further.
Facilitate feedback from colleagues, encouraging them to voice concerns and suggestions, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

Diploma / recognised Apprenticeship / relevant qualification within the aircraft industry or similar
Base Maintenance Experience
CAA/EASA Part 66 Licence with C Licence for types relevant to station
UKCAA B1 with relevant type ratings and 6 months of recency in the past 2 years
Types: A320, B737 & C-CERT
A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similar.
A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience of certifying Aircraft with an EASA part 66 licence and appropriate company authorisation
Management experience within the aviation industry preferably managing other Licensed Engineers
Technical experience in aviation and able to demonstrate knowledge of airworthiness regulation, MOE, MEL and its use, SRM understanding and the limits of technical data and the impact of that.
Have a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning.
High standard of English language (written and oral)
High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite
