The successful candidate will:oWork with colleagues to support the communications function of the organisation and help with the day-to-day running of the team.oProvide administrative support as appropriate including: diary management; organising meetings and administrative written work; ordering communications materials; maintaining our stakeholder databases.oSupport colleagues with editing and proofreading of press releases, take photographs, post on social media, help to organise events.oUpdate the staff intranet with news and events.oSupport the development of patient information, including liaising with content authors and reviewing, editing and feeding back on content.oMonitor media in local and national press and provide a summary to the team, while also helping with key tasks from the media inbox, including handling simple media and support the team to build on the good reputation already established via the media, direct marketing material and social media platforms.

Main duties of the job

oProvide general administrative support to the whole communications team.oSupport the head of digital engagement and senior digital communications manager to develop, proof-read and monitor the RFL's patient communications pieces for internal use via the intranet and publications to promote positive messages internally.oManage the media summary and understand media on a local and national level.oManage and help to organise events and VIP/ministerial visits, often at short notice, liaise with staff and manage any media on Supervise filming activity on site, ensure the most positive outcomes for the trust and build on our excellent Liaise with senior colleagues and PAs to book meetings and get documents including letters and releases signed and enforce the trust house style and help maintain the corporate identity of the trust in keeping with the trust brand and NHS identity with the digital team to help ensure that the trust's website enhances the reputation of the trust and conforms with trust house communications office staff are expected to deal with a range of telephone enquiries, do their own typing, maintain office systems and cover for other team members when necessary.oUndertake any other duties which might reasonably be required commensurate with the post.

Exciting times lie ahead for the Royal Free London (RFL), as we start work on delivering our new clinical strategy, welcome North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust (North Mid) to our group, and continue to focus on providing world class expertise and care for our communities - close to home and across the entire RFL's award-winning communications department is responsible for telling the story of the RFL group, which consists of four hospitals and more than 70 satellite provide positive, proactive, honest, and timely communications and engagement. The communications team operate in a very busy working environment. We serve a wide range of audiences that include approximately 17,000 staff and over a million patients who use our services every year, plus local and national broadcast and print media, GPs and other NHS team develops content for a number of internal communications channels; informs staff and other key stakeholders of key strategic and operational changes; manages Freenet (the RFL intranet); the trust's newly developed website and social media channels; handles hundreds of media calls every year; produces several media releases each week; and oversees the design and production of patient information.
