As a Senior Systems Engineerin our customersClearance team, you willassist with Qualification & Certification activities for keyavionicssystem updates. This is an important roleinsupporting the qualification of design changesacross a number ofavionicssub-systems,andthe engineer willwork closely withtest, integrationand supportteams to release new capability in line with programme demands.

It offers theopportunity to gainanunderstanding of TyphoonaircraftAvionicsacross thefull engineering lifecycle, working with a broad network oftechnicalstakeholders, both internally and acrossa consortium of multi-national partnercompanies.

Ideally, you shouldhave experience of qualification and certification for military aircraftavionicsbut candidates with experience in the civil aircraft sector will also be considered.


Work Experience

Required Skills (TechnicalCompetency):

  • RecentMilitary or civil aircraft Qualification & Certification experience
  • Generation of Airworthiness and Flight Clearance documentation
  • Working withotherAvionicsteams to plan and gather requiredqualification &certification inputs from SIL rig testing, flight trials, etc
  • Assessment ofQualification & Certification evidence, identifying any shortfalls and their impact
  • Ability to identify potential safety issues and liaise with appropriate teams to resolve
  • Identifying andtrackingdependencies
  • Working closely with externalassessorstakeholders (i.e. Qual & Cert /Airworthiness), to secure independent assessment and approval of Clearances
  • Assessing thetraceabilityof Clearance evidence
  • Presentation ofCertification evidence for formal sign off
  • Trackingand managing Clearance baselines across complex product variants
  • Supporting programme reviews, as required

Desired Skills:

  • Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Systems Engineering,Aerospace Engineeringor a related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of the Typhoon(or similar military aircraft)platform and the Qualification & Certification processes required(e.g. Eurofighter QAPs (Quality AssurancePolicies), UK MAA certification processes (MACP / RA), EASA civil certification processes (CS-25)).
  • ExperiencewithJIRAagile project managementtools
  • Experience usingProduct Safetyanalysis processes and toolsets (e.g.Fault Tree Analysis, ISOgraph toolsets (i.e. Reliability Workbench).
