Assembly Engineer

Our client who specialises in Precision Engineering, is looking for a skilled Assembly Engineer to join their growing team!

Assembly Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions and established procedures

  • Familiar with Staking Bearings, Heli-Coils, Valve Assembly, Beading using sealants such as PR1770

  • Competent with self-inspection and testing of finished products

  • Ensure all assembled components meet the required specifications and quality standards

  • Assemble in accordance with kit Kanban requirements

  • Identify and rectify any assembly defects

  • Maintain a clean and organised work area (5C)

  • Follow all safety regulations and procedures

  • Assist with the maintenance of assembly tools and equipment

  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effective

  • Carry out Bearing and bush assembly, Lee plug and helicoid inserts, Valves assembly [valve seats] and Fasteners/wire locking/beading

  • Self-inspection and testing of finished product

    The ideal Assembly Engineer will:

  • Proven experience as an Assembler or similar role within an engineering environment

  • A strong understanding of mechanical assembly principles and able to read 2D drawings

  • Be familiar with sub-assembly of machines components to aerospace requirements i.e: Staking Bearings, Heli-Coils and Valve Assembly

  • Experience of pressure testing would be advantageous

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to remain focused on highly detailed work and remain accurate

  • Fluency in written and spoken English required

  • Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is desirable, but not necessary (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering)

    Working Hours + Benefits:

  • Full Time, Permanent Position

  • 8am – 5pm

  • Flexible Working

  • 5 weeks annual leave + bank holidays

  • Pension Scheme
