Advanced system engineer – Hybrid Burner Systems for Thermal Processing machinery

In our premises in Vilvoorde-Belgium, we engineer, build, and test the customized heating solutions for the entire EMEA region. In our application lab, we develop future solutions for the fast-changing market, with a special focus on further developing our sustainable technology.

Within the Vilvoorde engineering and production site ofHTS, we are looking for anAdvanced System Engineer.

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible and the main point of contact for all safety and control related functions of our hybrid burner solutions with a special focus on electric-gas hybrid burners, from proposal stage till the final commissioning stage. The system engineer will be part of an international engineering team reporting to the Engineering manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the hybrid heating needs of the customer on the controls side, and support the business to develop efficient control systems that fit for the application
  • Detailed electrical engineering of our solutions. Assuring proper functionality in our hybrid burner systems
  • Review customer specifications and ensure compliance
  • Perform safety analyses and make sure our system is designed according to the applicable regulations (Machinery directive, EN 746-2, NFPA 86, EN60204, ISO13577, ATEX, EMC, LVD, …)
  • Designing the electrical control panels with aid of our standardized electrical engineering tool, Eplan.
  • Programming PLC software on customer specified automation platforms.
  • Define and upload the bill of material in our ERP (SAP) to initiate the order processing.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and external suppliers and solve electrical issues that arise during manufacturing.
  • Factory acceptance test assistance & on-site commissioning support.
  • Guide the design and development of advanced systems for Hybrid Heating products.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware, software, and network components.
  • Ensure system reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and demands.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in systems engineering.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s or Master degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering and project guidance, eg PLC systems, controls engineering and/or power electronics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in systems integration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and people-oriented skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
